My firewall that comes with my windows xp slows down my computer. What will be a better one firewall I can download and use for free?

Any firewall is going to take some resources. If that is a problem, you could look into getting a hardware firewall.

Get a router and turn off that darn software firewall.

Turn off the XP firewall, its useless.

Get Kerio Personal Firewall. Very good piece of software and unobtrusive.

i've been using norton firewall for years. haven't had any problems. it's great. only a few day's to go till it runs out. gotta update for '07. but before i do that, first, the 30th on jan when i get vista .. gotta check and see how it's updated firewall system will work.

For older set-ups sygate personal firewall is good and free. For more up to date machines zonealarm does a good job.
