I just got back from school and I am trying to use my house's Internet connection but my laptop says there is "little to no connectivity" when I take the plug from my Dad's computer and hook it to mine.

I swear I've done this before, but I must be forgetting something. Any ideas?

Is your laptop picking up a nearby wireless connection instead of the direct cable connection?

My laptop doesn't have a wireless card. All I am trying to do is take the plug from my Dad's computer and hook it to mine. I enable to "Local Area COnnection" and it tries to connect but then says "Little or no connectivity"

Is your system setup for DHCP? Try copying what IP info your dad's computer has onto your network connection.. I assume you are getting the connection lights...
