WAV files to Mp3 (for my own use) should i select the highest frequency (Hz) 48000?

CD Audio standard is only 44. Anything above that is wasted if you are ripping CD audio. If it's not being ripped from a CD and the original WAV file was recorded at 48, I suppose you could keep it, but honestly, very few ears would ever know the difference.
