Post subject: is applecare protection plan worth the $

so im going to buy a mac after hearing great things about it, and how it can run windows too. so should i get the applecare extension for 3 years of service? im sorta computer savvy and can install H/W myself. do i really need the plan if apple is so good at not breaking?

Anyway, as just about any other service plan for any high priced electronic device, it comes down to cost, plus your own ability to fix problems freely or cheap. Depending on how well you think you could resolve most problems, the cost may, or may not be worth it.
