While I don't have any on computer, I have little doubt that looking at clips on porn sites is somehow the cause of all this.

sure! You might get some mixed results though - maybe nothing will stop, maybe your computer will go nonresponsive.

Run some spyware checks, make sure you don't have anything running that you don't need running, and maybe even defrag your PC. Or buy yourself some new RAM. It is pretty cheap

Start -> programs -> tools -> system tools -> disk cleaning or something like that.

Assuming you don't ahve spyware shit clogging your system, get some more memory.

I was getting those messages all the time, so I bought 512MB more RAM and now it's smoooooooooooth sailing.

This is all about what running on your computer right now. Check bar in the bottom right corner (where msn messenger is, etc) Is there a ton of stuff there? Get rid of it. A lot of the stuff that goes in there is useless, and takes up memory. Also try not to have too many windows open at once. And as someone else said, think about throwing another stick of ram in there. It does make a big difference

Not much. Seriously though, hit ctrl/alt/delte, then click the processes tab, and end any of the processes that you know you arent using. It eats up all your memory.

mowbs go to start, run and type in "msconfig" under the general tab, hit selective start up and reboot. you shouldn't have any issues after that.

the only thing is that it doesn't start up any fancy shit. if you need that shit and can't find it, which knowing you the odds are 100%, just go back and do the same routine and set it back to what it was before. and go buy RAM.

(c) Buggy btw, though i knew about for a long time, i was always afraid to this myself, but ever since Buggy convinced me, my machine has been running like forest gump on steroids.

This is the best advice, IMO.

In startup, there really shouldn't be more than a dozen or max 20 things running. They should mostly be related to your virus protection, firewall, and other security programs. Shit like itunes and other media players, AOL, AIM and all that shit, or any of hundreds of crap programs that your computer may have installed when you were installing something else can be running and can be killed. I mean, so what if itunes starts up 1 second faster when you open it? It slows down everything else on your whole system to hav it sitting there running and waiting for orders from startup.

I fix my parents' computers of this shit virtually every time I go to one of their houses. :shake:
