Ok my computer is getting sluggish and I'm working on cleaning up my hard drive I was thinking about upgradeing my ram to help give it a little push

I have 512MB DDR SDRAM at 266MHz
with a pentium 4 processor

so my questions are will getting more Ram help me?
and if so what is the right ram to get?
and should I add another 512 or replace my 512 with 1024?

any help is greatly appreciated

thanks

yes it will increase your speed significantly. get another 512. i find having 2 512's work way better than one 1024. good luck :)

I'm looking for a 2 x 1GB upgrade of DDR2 667MHz RAM (240-pin). If you see any smokin' deals post them here please!

Thanks but that stuff is waaaaay overpriced. I've been looking around and it seems the best I can find for a 2 x 1GB kit is in the $125 range. I should have clarified that I'm looking for anything cheaper than that.

Well mwave.com ended up having the best deal--$140 shipped. Which was kinda weird because their 2-day FedEx shipping was the cheapest of all the shipping options, including ground :poke: I hope for that much $ I see a noticeable difference, particularly when doing audio recording and running lots of plug-ins.

crucial is the cheapest site I've seen for RAM. I have bought for three machines.

Upgrading your notebook is mad easy. There is a little door on the bottom side of your machine. Take it off, snap in memory.
