Hey guys. How the fuck would I go about testing the power adapter for my Audigy2 NX to see if it's fucked?

I am not good with shit like this.

Plug it into the wall. Put one probe on the center conductor (inside the cylinder) and one on the outside of the cylinder.

Plug in adapter;
Moisten fingers;
Touch exposed leads;

If hair resembles picture, adapter is working:

We tried, but unfortunately weren't able to get a good result out of it due to the size of the probes.
