So I guess it's not the hot topic I might have imagined. Where are you at on this (keep in mind that I'm not anywhere on it to this point myself). Are you devoloping for it? Any considerations? Have you even looked at it (if you have...damn, it's a bit much).

Many of us have are excited for it. Mainly, Eli and myself. You'll have to ask him, but it probably wouldn't be installed until RC1 becomes the Gold release (meaning it has no significant bugs or issues).

I haven't installed the RC1 yet, but I have been testing the Beta2 release, and I have downloaded and looked at the codebase and structure of the latest release and I'm pretty dissappointed thus far. There was a lot expected of a maintainer of phpBB2.0.x, and it appears there will be even higher expectations for phpBB3 maintainers. I mean, there are CSS files that consist of a single CSS body declaration with but one property...that can't be necessary. The overhead seems unrealistic to me.
I love phpBB, but version 3 doesn't feel right to me. The ground-up rewrite was probably a mistake. The CSS doesn't seem to be all in one place, which would make the application easier for machines and harder for humans and I'm certain that isn't the goal.
I have a real sense of this thing dying on the vine.

I'm pretty excited about it, but have not tried the RC yet. I dont really expect to jump in until they've gone gold. Then I'll dive in and start all sorts of things.
