Anyone have any experience converting from avi to divx/xvid? My home theater will play divx but not avi so I want to convert to watch on it, rather than on my pc or laptop.

actually, avi is just the container and xvid/divx is the codec used to encode the movie.

for example if you download a movie labeled as

Movie.DVDRip.XViD-GROUPNAME.avi

it should run fine on your player.
