so i don't know when i became an idiot technologically. i remember when i was cutting edge about 7 or 8 years ago lol.
so here's my situation, i've pretty much used most of my hard drive space on my current pc. i like this computer just fine, so i'm not in the market for a new one. also, i dont have anything on my computer backed up and i've become more and more paranoid that i am going to lose it all. so my thinking is that i should buy an external harddrive where i can copy everything i'm afraid of losing, as well as having more space for future d/l's, etc.
point me in the right direction!

I got a Western Digital external hard-drive for my laptop. 300 gig or thereabouts. It's now full and won't read on my laptop (which is a PC). It does, however, read on my mate's Mac laptop. And my PC one was the only one it was ever hooked up to prior to testing it on the Mac. Weird.
I just back everything up on DVD now. I figure once it's burned onto DVD, it'll be there for good if you don't scratch it. Of course, I have spindles of full DVD's everywhere now, but I figure that's the price you pay for relative security of your data.
