i have done a search but there are soo many topics that its impossible to find whether my specific problem is in them, so please bare w/ me, and any help is greatly appreciated.
i'm getting really slow speeds and i want to configure everything properly to fix that.
i've looked at http://gruven42.webhop.org/xpfwbt/xp_firewall_bt.htm which explains how to open ports w/ windows xp, but the problem is that now with windows service pack 2, everything is different and i don't know exactly how to configure it now. for now i've disabled the winxp firewall but i would rather not do that and just open the necessary ports.
also, i'm using a router but i don't seem to have the instructions and couldn't find them on the manufacturers website, so i'm not exactly sure how to open the necessary ports.
if someone could also help me w/ this part, basically i click on "add tcp entry" and then i have to input "external port" "internal port" and "local IP address"
i'm clueless as to what to do.
some additional info that may be helpful:
i'm using ABC as my bit torrent client
my router is a Hawking Technology 10/100 cable/dsl router

I think i have the same problem as you. Personally i am happy to have gotten as far as i have considering i know absolutly nothing about computers.
But, I think i have opened up the firewall for all of the ports. But it still isnt working. I am using bittornado and i am getting the yellow light. Any help would be appreciated.
