A couple weeks ago my roommate got on my computer when I was out of town and he went to some website and put a bitch of a virus on my desktop. I had to reinstall everything on my computer in order to use it again. Anyway, now I can surf the net a bit. But I misplaced a couple back up disks and as a result I don't have microsoft word and I still have one resilent virus on my hard drive and it slows down my scrolling as well as the overall cpu speed. Any suggestions?

Go to the system32 folder and try to use a file named MRT. It is an effective anti-virus/spyware that windows has but for some reason, Microsoft doesnt talk about it.

You can go to run and type in MRT. Just an easier way to get to it. This works for Vista, I would guess that it is the same for XP.
