Well I believe my power supply is stuffed on my external hdd. Because the red/yellow light just keeps blinking on and off constantly and I've googled it and either the actual hard drive is stuffed or my power supply is stuffed. I'm going with the power supply though, as I did switch boards earlier and I plugged my amplifier into the same double adapter as the hard drive. Anyway..
Would it be safe to break the case off the hard drive and try plugging it into the computer? I see no screws or anything particular in being able to get it out an easy way (It's a Lacie Porsche Design 320gb) so this seems to be the only way. And then from there could I plug it into an IDE port spare in my computer and still treat it as another hard drive?

Just an update, I did it a few days ago and everything worked out fine, turns out it was a faulty power supply, so now I got a spare case and faulty power supply.
