 Post subject: My Computer is running so SLOW lately :(

Just in the past few weeks, my computer has really slowed down all of a sudden. It all started when my sound suddenly went away:

I got a new soundcard, but it still takes longer then usual to load and it takes twice the amount of time to read and burn a disc. Before it took on average no more than 30 minutes to read and burn a disc, now it takes about an hour to do both.

I have room on my computer and I've recently defraged it. I've also recently installed a new burner, so I know that's not it. Any suggestions?

Sound cards don't really have anything to do with loading or burning a CD.

The first thing you should have done was scan for viruses. Do that now.

Do you also know if you have the most current drivers for your new hardware? That may be another thing to look into.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I already checked for viruses, and everything came back good. How do you check for the current drivers? Would it suddenly just change? Everything was working perfectly until one day, it just slowed down
