It just started doing this about a week ago. After about 10 mins of watching a movie the red light shuts off. It never used to do this but after researching the problems for some reason my controller goes to standby mode. Pushing the center PS3 button is supposed to turn the controller back on, i even set it up to do this in the power settings, however it doesn't work. the lights just keep blinking and I have to turn the power switch in the back of the ps3 off and turn it back on to get the controller to respond. I tried resetting it but that didn't work, although I am not sure if I reset it properly bc where the reset button sould be, there is a small hole, but nothing to push down.

Any ideas?

Get a Wii.

Try plugging it in a computer, then restarting.

There was a feature added in one of the last updates to turn controllers off after a certain amount of time. Under Settings you'll find Power Save Settings, it's in there.
