I have an internet shortcut on my desktop to go play a game at MSN, which appears to require (or to at least greatly simplify) IE be used, but I use Firefox as my default browser. I thought you could just open the "Properties" of that shortcut icon and edit it to open in IE, but I can't seem to see where to do it. I think I've been through every option.

Anyone know if this can be done?

Thanks.

Since you only use IE for this purpose, why not just set the shortcut as the homepage for IE. Then whenever you open IE it'll bring you right there!

That's actually what I did while I was waiting for a response. I think we are correct. :D

There's got to be a way to do this though.

Make a shortcut to Internet Explorer (C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe probably), open properties of the shortcut and add the url you want to visit after the target that's currently there, e.g. "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://www.google.com.

or bookmark the page in IE, then drag the bookmark to the desktop.

That doesn't work. It will open the bookmark in the default browser.
