Alright guys. peruse this convo and you'll get the just of my problem. How can I handle this?
radio reid6 (8:31:32 PM): you are pretty okay with computers, right? radio reid6 (8:31:34 PM): winrar? cutuphalfdead (8:31:54 PM): does this have something to do with computers radio reid6 (8:32:19 PM): cutuphalfdead (8:32:44 PM): so whats the question radio reid6 (8:33:42 PM): I want to be able to download an album from mediafire, megaupload, rapidshare, etc directly onto my external hardrive. Right now it seems to download onto my laptop and I have to manually extract the files to my external. radio reid6 (8:33:54 PM): im worried that i'm still saving things onto my laptop and I don't want to. cutuphalfdead (8:34:23 PM): well when you right click the link to download and hit "save as" choose your external as the place to save it radio reid6 (8:35:16 PM): right click the link? I' radio reid6 (8:35:21 PM): ve never dont that before. radio reid6 (8:35:23 PM): hmm cutuphalfdead (8:35:31 PM): well when you download anything radio reid6 (8:35:35 PM): okay, give me an album recommendation. i ant to try it! cutuphalfdead (8:35:38 PM): usually a window pops up and you select where to save it radio reid6 (8:35:41 PM): right cutuphalfdead (8:35:50 PM): instead of selecting your laptops hard drive space cutuphalfdead (8:35:54 PM): select your external drive radio reid6 (8:37:38 PM): I'll try it out. I don't remember it ever suggesting the hard drive, though. i feel like I would have caught that. im sure you're right though,
*tries it out by downloading M. Ward's Post War*
radio reid6 (8:39:52 PM): yeah. there wasn't an option for "save as". radio reid6 (8:41:43 PM): only open with winrar (which is what i normally select) or "save file" but I can't select what to save it to. cutuphalfdead (8:41:58 PM): i dont know dude

aha.. first, you gotta downgrade to XP. then use Opera instead of firefox or explorer. every time you clic on a link (using Opera) a little window will pop up asking you where to download the file. no right clic or anything.

I can't use opera on vista? Do I have any options that don't involve downgrading to XP? Are you just mocking me?

You should be using Opera regardless of what OS you are using.
