what is the difference between a VCD and an MPEG file?
are they the same thing?
if you burn an MPEG file to a CD is it now playable on a DVD player that supports VCD's or do you have to convert the MPEG file to some kind of image file first before you burn the cd (like you do when you burn a DVD)
i have a few concerts i downloaded that say they are VCD's but right now i just have them on my computer as MPEG files and i'd like to burn them...

any help??
the file needs to be mpg to be able to burn as a VCD...but it isnt technically an mpg. so if you just burn an mpg on a cdr it will not work on a dvd player. you must use a program like nero and burn as a VCD.
in the case of nero, if you create a new project as a vcd, and import an mpg (assuming it is the right aspect ratio, framerate etc) it will do the conversion for you
