I've picked up some filthy malware lately, reformatted my computer but didn't download anything to protect my computer. I've already been infested again and may have to reformat.
Can you guys recommend some all star program? I'm not going to go through the trouble of reformatting again if I can't find a way to better protect my computer.

who is your isp? comcast offers mcaffee for free, or depending on your OS, im assuming you have XP, try windows defender, its free and can be found here
I update all my software manually, so when I get an "update alert" I ignore it, scan my computer and then check said software for an authentic update.
Also, I'm vigilant about spam in my email inbox. If I don't know who sent it, I don't open it and I mark it as spam.
In all seriousness Kam, there isn't much more you can do. Virus and Malware softwares are only as good as their updates. Sometimes things will get past them. Also, softwares that we need to use everyday may have a security hole that hasn't been patched.
Be sure you set a restore point so you can use System Restore.

I couldn't download porn even if I wanted to. My kids would find it. Besides, the last porn I saw involved two chicks being hunted in a backyard forest and one got shot in her jinky with a dildo arrow from a bow. Not exactly the kind of scene that turns you on, yanno? It was only disturbingly comedic. So until they come up with a better plot, I'm not going to scour the interwebs for porn.

As long as the camera doesn't pan to anyone's face's I guess I'd be ok with that.
