My first step would be to stop turning the lapton and get the hair-dryer onto that sucker.

Purely speculative, but i heard on the radio that a good thing to do is sit the item in rice for a day or two

For future reference, rice works, as does putting it in front of a fridge (fridges have de-humidifiers in the front).

I can confirm that rice works on cell phones, and I'd suspect that trick works on laptops too.

I'm actually curious. Did you buy a new computer?

Someone spilled an entire pint glass of orange juice over ours. It somewhat worked for about a month and then died.

nope, just a new keyboard for $15. a bit inconvenient (the whole lap part of laptop sort of goes out the window when you have another keyboard connected) but hey, i still have a working computer and that's what matters. the computer itself was messed up for about half a day i think, but then it worked fine, aside from keyboard problems.
