Uses: Office photo editing iTunes (let's face it, that's what's killing the processing speed on my current computer) I want to make DVDs of the kids (not a lot of video editing, just what I can do with MS Movie Maker probably) |

How is Winamp nowadays? I have it on my old Windows 98 and it's sort of a hassle. Didn't really have a good library feature as far as I could tell. |

Winamp is pretty awesome. It still runs almost exactly the same as it did in 1998 but the library feature is definitely better now. I love it because it barely uses any resources, is aesthetically pleasing, and can pretty much play anything. Ever try to play a FLAC in itunes? |

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop, except it has an Intel processor and a bigger screen. The other specs look similar. I love it. I got it a couple years ago and it still runs perfectly. Seems to handle itunes just fine. The only thing that crapped out was Microsoft Vista, but that was expected and now it runs even better with Windows 7. |

I'm a fan of the Asus laptops. You might want to compare those. |

4GB of DDR3 is more than enough to do anything that isn't graphical work. And to think that with this money I would be able to afford a 1GB DDR2 netbook without any optical media here. |

They'll replace any one component up to 2 years out, in addition to the standard protections. Of course, if you purchase it through a big box store their warranty supersedes the manufacturer warranty. My Asus laptop worked just fine til the graphics card got fried, and would have cost $300 to replace. |
