So I have an older Mac PowerBook. I closed the laptop and left for work yesterday. I guess at some point the power cord lost its connection and wasn't charging the battery. I came home, popped it open, and......nothing. Now the cord won't even light up (signaling that the battery is charging). My machine has no power and I can't charge it.

Is your cord connected in the middle? Try unplugging it from your comp, taking it apart, and unplugging it from the outlet. Then reconnect. That works for me sometimes.
That's just it. I have disconnected it from the computer, and when I attempt to reconnect it, nothing happens. I think the battery is too dead to be resuscitated, or the cord is broken, or both.

I don't know how the Mac power cords work, but my power cord has two parts (maybe this is what reid is describing?). At one point it stopped working, but I took the cord apart and let it sit for a little while then put it together and it worked. I feel like this is what reid said though.
