I have a Toshiba Satellite that has outlasted and outperformed every laptop I've ever had (including a Sony Vaio). It's 10x better than the $1200 Dell I use at work.

I've heard very good things about Toshibas as well. My next laptop will either be another Asus (most likely) or a Toshiba.

are the keys being close together a problem or do you get used to it
I hate small keyboards. One of the reasons why I got a big laptop. The one I have is only slightly smaller than a normal keyboard, and has the full 10 key setup on the right.
