I don't really know what I'm doing with HTML though. I just want to be able to open a pre-existing html e-newsletter template and change it a bit. Can I do that in text editor?

What are you looking to change? Opening up an html file in a text editor will give you the code and you can make changes and save it if you know what you're doing. HTML for the most part is really simple. Let me know what you're trying to do and maybe I can help.

Wait, I think I got it. At the bottom of the newsletter, it still says Copyright 2008 and I just wanted to change it to 2011. Which I think I successfully did.
