So I'm pretty naive when it comes to dvd burning for viewing. I have a season of a tv show I want to burn to play in a standard dvd player, or convert to watch on my laptop. They are in .mkv format. Can anyone help? Prefer a software that is free or relatively inexpensive.

I use Convert X to DVD for most stuff but I don't know if there is a free version (although it can be downloaded at places like Demonoid etc). DVDSanta has a free version that has all you need to convert most files, but it doesn't do everything, which is why I usually use the other one.
