I downloaded the Nirvana "Chosen Rejects" bootleg from the internet. It's a four cd set. The files are in flac format. I tried to play them via itunes so that the files will appear there and eventually I will be able to sync them to my ipod. It didn't work. I want the files to appear on itunes. Can anybody help out?
It's a lot better than the plugin for itunes and works quickly and easily.
Once that's all set your winamp can now play and convert FLACs.
Drag the files into your playlist to play them, but if you want to convert, you need to go into preferences and change the output plugin. ctrl+p will get you to the preferences window.
On the left click on Output under the plugins menue:
That one I have highlighted is the default that tells winamp to simply play the music, if instead I click on Nulsoft Disk Writer it won't play the files but instead convert them to wav. Once that's highlighted you can click on configure to tell it where to save the wav files. Once you've set that just X out of the preferences window and go back to your playlist and "play" the files. You won't hear anything but it will quickly go through the list, converting them all to wavs.

When you're done converting make sure you change your outpug plugin back to the directsound output so next time you use winamp it will play music and not convert it.
