ironically enough, the horrible politics that encouraged me to click on this thread has made me more likely to go to Chick-Fil-A

In-N-Out is run by Christian nutjobs too unfortunately. Not on this level but they're pretty religious. Luckily for me Austin has some nice burger joints run by godless punks.
It's a shame though, Chic-Fil-A is damn good.

It's not even comparable, Chick-Fil-A is far superior. In fact, I had Wendy's for the first time in a long time the other day, and went for their spicy chicken. It was literally the worst chicken sandwich I've ever had. It's as if they microwaved the chicken, thus giving it a tough and rubbery consistency. I decided then, that I will no longer go to Wendy's either. Not due to their political / social leanings, but because they serve shitty food. For the record, this Wendy's that I'm talking about used to be good, but it's gone downhill big time. The last time I ate there, I thought it sucked, but I was still willing to try it again. This is the third time in a row I've been let down by this particular Wendy's, so I'm done with it.

what do we know of Five Guys political & religious leanings?
i flippin' love that place.
I've always said Chick-Fil-A is the 5 Guys of chicken. Sure there are better sandwiches / burgers out there, but for fast food, it's hard to top either one.

No. They are southern baptist, and they'll be supporting the far right republican cause.
So you knew this before this whole anti gay marriage flap came out.. why would it impact your decision to eat there? Just because they hadn't come right out and said it? At that point they're being punished for their honesty, not their beliefs.

Because I think it's fucking retarded for a company to come out and say shit like that. I know they are Jesus lovers, but I never saw them really flaunt it too much (other than being closed on Sundays). Their religious beliefs never bothered me because from what I could tell, they kept them to themselves for the most part.
For the CEO of a company to come out and discuss this and take a stand is just stupid, polarizing, and I feel, it's in incredibly bad taste. He also went further by making that bullshit comment "we are the type of people who stay married to our first wives"...He drew a marker in the sand, took a side (officially / publicly), and I'm doing the same thing now. Had he kept his fat mouth shut, I wouldn't think much about it, and still (occasionally) eat there. The last thing I want to think about while I"m enjoying a spicy chicken sandwich is far right politics and homophobe douche bags.
