The problem with PETA is that they are often extremists who spend more time and energy trying to get money and memberships than actually helping animals.

I don't think you can stereotype everyone involved with PETA as extremists. Sure, there are going to be some in the group, but I beieve there are some that are out there who truely want to help the animals in the best way possible.

PETA is not, IMO, the best way to help animals. Every member is not an extremist, but when you belong to a group you're responsible for the best and worst actions of that group.

I guess you could argue the same about those who are "Pro-Life". I guess it's not ok to be "Pro-Life" because there are folks who bomb abortion clinics.
I am not a member of PETA, but I have met some really good folks who work with PETA. The ones that I've met were extremely intelligent and passive in their actions.
