I'm wondering if this is an April Fools joke. I thought Frank Perdue died like ten years ago. :?

You're probably thinking of the original Orville Reddenbacher (sp?). Although, I have doubts he is, indeed, dead.

If it is a prank, Purdue Poultry is in on it: http://www.perdue.com/corporate/perdue_ ... 1=3&lvl2=0

I know his son has been the face of the company for several years now, and I could have sworn that I recalled Frank dying in the mid 90's at some point. Maybe I was wrong.

I loved the Perdue adds when I was a little kid. Of all the commercials on TV, I remember Frank Perdue from a very, very young age.

I only know what I read on the site, so if it's a prank, this info is no good, but in the History section it says that Jim took over marketting in the 90's and doesn't mention Frank's death.

Like that?

Maybe it's an east coast thing. Don't you have Perdue brand chicken where you live? We have it in Milwaukee.

In the grocery stores? No, just Tyson really. We don't have Hellman's mayo either, it's called Best Foods out here. Same company though. Weird.

I wish I could, but as far as I know, you can only split threads, not merge them.
