Ann Coluter: Ms. Right

Ann Coulter epitomizes the way politics is now discussed on the airwaves, where opinions must come violently fast and cause as much friction as possible, TIME’s John Cloud claims in this week’s cover story.

No one, right or left, delivers the required apothegmatic commentary on the world with as much glee or effectiveness as Coulter, Cloud writes (on newsstands Monday, April 18 ).

It is almost impossible to watch her and not be sluiced into rage or elation, depending on your views. As a congressional staff member 10 years ago, Coulter used to help write the nation’s laws.

Now she is far more powerful: she helps set the nation’s tone. TIME’s Cloud had unprecedented access to Coulter.

He goes more than 6,000 words.

And he appears to come away liking her.

"On TV or in person, you can trust that Coulter will speak from her heart. The officialdom of punditry, so full of phonies and dullards, would suffer without her humor and fire. Which is not to say you don't want to shut her up occasionally," Cloud notes.

I read her column every week and god she is worthless. There's little to no logic in anything that she says the topic is always the same, how can I make fun of the left this week? There's nothing wrong with tearing down the opposition but you also want to explain your side a bit too. A useless inflammatory hemmoroid on the ass of politics if there ever was one.

I might add that I actually enjoy reading op/eds written by conservatives, I think that some of them make some damn good points, even if I don't agree with them. There's just no excuse for her though...

Somebody give me one good reason why I should listen to this broad, much less care what magazine's cover she's on.

Good for Ann. She's worked very hard her entire life and she's getting recognition for becoming an important figure in the political-talk world.

She angers me very much, but as a Canadian, I don't want to upset her or else she'll "roll over and crush us".
I wonder if she still thinks Canada sent troops to Vietnam.

On a more serious note than my last post.

I really have no idea who she is other than a right-wing talking head. I have no idea what her, Limbaugh, OReilly, or any of their left-winged brethren are up to. I have no clue why people dislike her. Am I doing the right thing by ignoring talking heads or am I sheltering myself?

Hmm, let's see....looking at the facts and forming your own opinion or having them force fed to you by jagoffs.....I think you're doing the right thing.

This Fifth Estate episode Sticks and Stones aired on CBC-TV was one of the best shows was second to the the Dick Cheney one.

Here's the best clip from: http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/video_player.html?coulter_clip

I can probably torrent both the Cheney and Sticks and Stones, if that can be done here? I've never seen it done in on of these threads...?
