So I had an idea:
I though we could bring our collective knowledge of our local sources of news and get some kind of an overview of their characteristics so that we get a feel for the type of newspaper it is when someone posts an article from it or if one of us goes to another country and picks up a newspaper there etc.
I'll start with what I know of UK and Australian sources. For the moment I'm thinking of omitting internet sources altogether. We can modify the criteria, add different sources, vary the presentation etc if the idea catches on a bit. Also feel free to add to sources that others have forgotten.
UK
Broadsheets
The Daily Telegraph - leans right
The Guardian - leans left
The Observer - ? - I'm pretty sure they are tied to one of the other papers
The Times - leans right?
The Independent - leans left - pretty borderline "broadsheet" - has tabloidy characteristics - prone to sensationalism
Tabloids
The Sun
The Daily Mail
The News of the World
The Mirror
Australia
Broadsheets
The Sydney Morning Herald - leans left
The Age - ? - Fairfax owned like SMH, so a Victorian version of SMH - I'm guessing leans left.
The Australian - ? -
Tabloids
The Daily Telegraph - unlike it's British namesake - this is a horrid sensationalist tabloid. ugh.
The Sun Herald - I hate Miranda Devine

If Soundgarden is perfectly fine with playing together with Tad Doyle on vocals, why the fuck is he wasting his life promoting the single worst album of all time? Holy shit, he has to be the stupidest motherfucker on earth.
