okay... in regards to ANWR, last night Bush said that they only need 2,000 acres of land that contains 19,000,000 to check for oil/gas... if they are to find something, and say they could use 1/2 of the land to bring up some oil, how much are they thinking they can get?... how long would it last?... and if people are really trying to stop them from using just 2,000 to see if they can help us stop relying on foreign country for our oil, well that's just plain stupid... i was completely against drilling in alaska before i heard these comments... so, i guess what i want to know is, is he telling the truth?... will it really only take that many acres?... what are the pitfalls?... if oil is found in abundancy up there, couldn't they just make an agreement to give up half the land, get paid big money for it, and write up an agreement which states that after receiving half, hands off, forever... even have the government ship some of the wildlife from the drilling areas out to keep people like peta and whomever happy... i dont know... it seems the fact that we don't have any oil in the States anymore is one major problem facing us... some people even think an entire war was/is being fought over it
now after typing this im realizing there is probably already a thread about this... if so, point me that way... if not, let me get some insight from some of you who know about all this

thanks.... well, didnt get a whole lot out of it... did realize two things... 1)it's ANWR w/o the extra A, and 2) unless the people are promised (maybe even on paper) that gas prices will drop significantly, then i say let the buffalo roam
