I received an unexpected check in the mail today in the amount of $29.00 from the State of WA DOL with the attached message:

Dear vehicle owner:

The attached check is a refund of fees affected by I-776 for your vehicle.

In November 2002, Washington voters passed Initiative 776 (I-776), which eliminated locally approved vehicle-licensing fees in King and Pierce Counties and reduced the gross weight fees on light trucks statewide. Our records indicate you are entitled to a refund of one or more of these fees on the vehicle described below.

For more information regarding I-776, please visit us on the Internet at http://www.dol.wa.gov or call toll free 1-866-520-4365.

Detailed refund amounts for vehicle with license plate XXXXXXX:

Local county fee: $15.00
Light truck gross weight fee reduction: $14.00
Total refund: $29.00

The refund isn't just for trucks. You will get a bigger refund if you have a truck, but for car owners, like me, you'll get $15.00. I received mine on Sat. also.
