Not that I condone taking the law into your own hands, but I don't feel sorry for the guy. Maybe his wife, but not the guy.
Yeah, well, the punishment for drunk driving in most communities is a loss of your license and/or a couple of days in jail, not a savage beating by vigilantes.

Savage beating? Where'd you read that?
The article says "assault." Do you think they just poked him really hard in the arm?
Sorry, I took a little artistic license.

He was drunk... chances are, a polite beating this was not.

Assault can be anything from a push to a "savage beating".
But you know that, don't you?
I admitted that I took artistic license. If someone walked up and pushed him, and that was newsworthy, then this articles serves to prove that Detroit is all kittens and tulips.

I know you admitted it. This article is newsworthy because of the headline. It's eyecatching, but let's face it - if this guy was injured from this, he would have gone to the hospital. He didn't, so I'm more inclined to believe this is just sensationalism.

I withdraw the word "savage."

Well this guy's on the bonus plan because he'll most likely get both.
