i recently moved to fayetteville, nc... anyway, as many of you know Fort Bragg is located just down the road, which means that many, many military personnel live in fayetteville... ive been here about a three months now and have met quite a few people that have been to iraq... im not receiving this info from an email from some obscure soldier in iraq or from some foxnews cast or through a friend-of-a-friend's-aunt's-cousin's-sister that i know... this is coming straight from the mouths of people who have BEEN there, people i see with my own eyes and hear with my own ears... anyway, of the three i have heard the most from they all come with the same things...

what we see/saw on tv is/was total bullshit... the flowers stopped hitting the ground a long, LONG time ago... they are not in love with the american soldiers... each soldier told me that they fucking HATE us... and i mean HATE us... one guy who is back wakes up all the time scaring the shit out of his wife screaming "shoot them! shoot them!".... another guy said it sucked but became horrible once the marines arrived... he tells stories of american soldiers saying the nastiest, vulgar shit to the iraqi men and women... and guess what happens when an iraqi man says "shut up" or "fuck off" to an american soldier... he gets the butt of a gun up against his head, and that's if they let him off easy... the other man tells me how he wont go back, cant go back... he feels like he is almost half-crazy, and swears that if he goes back, he will lose it... a friend from back home who went was happier'n a pig in shit when he found out he would be on a base over in iraq and not fighting for his life.... i havent talked to a single soldier that thinks we are right in our fight in iraq or that we have a prayer... one guy was a captain or some high-ranking fucker... anyway, he said that the violence there and chaos will NEVER end... no matter what we try to do... he also thinks we just need to get the hell out... anyway... i just think it's a total waste being there... and it's nice to hear REAL people talk about it all... not just these political fuckstains

how many fucked up families are there going to be in the US after all of this mess? (i wont ask about iraqi families being fucked up cause not many americans care)... how many brothers, sons, daughters, dads, and moms are going to die and ruin the lives of countless brothers, sisters, aunts, grandfathers, mothers, and friends?... bush can sit up there in his safe little nest and keep fucking up everyone else's lives and have no cares... you can say it's not his fault, but it is... he led the nation to a war that we didnt need to begin... he told all of us how confident he was in the information he was spewing on americans... blame him and his entire administration for all i care... he said it himself the other day about not having all the facts... what a jackass...

i hope he dies... i really do

(and yeah, im a bit angry today, but i think that's what americans need is a bit more anger directed in the right place... i couldnt fathom how angry i would be if i had a relative over there)

good post. I have a friend that went over there and said basically the same shit. It's brutal and it's not worth it. He has to go back and he dreads it like nothing else. I feel so bad for him and his fellow troops. I'm sure there are a lot of soldiers there doing well and fighting the "good" fight. They are helping Iraqi civilians and trying to make it a better place to live. But this thing will never be resolved and it just isn't worth it. Too many soldiers are coming bcaked all fucked up from this war. it happened in Vietnam and it is happening all over again.
