Booo. Foul.
At some point between yesterday afternoon and this afternoon, somebody stole my Kerry/Edwards sign right off my front door.
My next door neighbor is a kid who's 19 and very excited to be able to vote, and REALLY hates Bush. He was talking about plans to steal Bush yard signs, and I told him that wasn't cool, in addition to being illegal.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Cant say that i have. Here in Greenwich, there is actually a city ordinance against displaying any sign political in nature. Although people seem to do it anyway.

There was a rash of Kerry/Edwards signs stolen in my neighborhood a while back, and someone stuck a Bush/Cheney sticker over our Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker. Douchebags. How un-American can you be?

A guy I work with had his Kerry/Edwards sign ripped up and thrown all over his lawn. What kind of shit is that? Who gets that angry to want to do that?

My Neighbor and my brother have both had thier Bush signs torn down. This is not a case of one side being more at fault then the other, both are guilty. THis is a left leaning board ,and since alot of people have had this happen ,and you are only going to be aware of the examples involving Kerry signs, your view is very distorted.

Thanks, but I'm quite aware of what's going on in my hometown. Yes, both sides are guilty. Actually, people are guilty. It's a falsehood to blame all Republicans/Democrats for the actions of a few.

I heard a discussion of things people were doing to prevent this on the radio the other day. One guy had just built his house so he had no yard yet. They ran the hoses all day around the sign so it was pure mud and then greased the sign posts so that whoever tried to steal it ended up a mess. Another person had put fishing hooks all around the edges of the sign. There were some other good ones I can't recall.
It's sad when it comes to this. Anyway, who's opinion has ever been influenced by a yard sign?
Im not telling you that its just republicans, except...where i live, its just republicans. I tell all my friends, if you see a sign up for somebody, dont vote for them because they are a republican (and the republicans running locally (well, and nationally)) suck! Because the fucking republicans rip down every sign for a democrat they can find. Even for the board of education candidates. Thats a non-partisan race! but the repbulican party has endorsed somebody and they rip down everybody elses stuff. And those dumbass stupid republicans who think bush is such a wonderful candidate threw two cinder blocks through our party headquarters where all the volunteers work. Thats fucking republican tactics. If you dont like it, destroy it. Thats been National policy for four years, and Im not voting bush again. We will not take more of this republican bullshit.
