I do have to say, Bush said something yesterday at a rally that I completely agree with:
Quote:
"A political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your commander in chief," Bush told supporters at an airport rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
That statement is simply brimming with irony.

i think its more about kerry though, and its true
What do you call Bush cancelling the deadline Clinton made for automakers to develop prototypes of alternative fuel vehicles? Or trying to cancel Clinton's inniative of forcing water plants to reduce the amount of arsenic in drinking water? Or cancelling the program to test school lunch food for salmonella (he swore this was just a mistake when ppl complained)? Or ignoring the advice of the heads of EPA and Homeland Security about the 120,000+ chemcial plants with nonexistant security being forced to protect themselves, instead he let the industry write its own guidelines then allowed them to be VOLUNTARY?

Man, Kerry would be a fool not to spike that line back down Bush's throat.
how easy it would be... unfortunately, the pussy probably wont do it
Apparently, he did. From Reuters:
---Kerry said the weapons were not "where they were supposed to be, you were warned to guard them, you didn't guard them. They're not secure, and, guess what, according to George Bush's own words, he shouldn't be our commander in chief and I couldn't agree more."
Kerry threw the words back at the president 24 hours later, announcing he was going "to apply the Bush standard" and declaring: "Mr. President, I agree with you."
"George Bush jumped to conclusions about 9/11 and Saddam Hussein," he said. "George Bush jumped to conclusions about weapons of mass destruction and he rushed to war without a plan for the peace. George Bush jumped to conclusions about how the Iraqi people would receive our troops. He not only jumped to conclusions, he ignored the facts he was given."---

Now it seems like Giuliani and Edwards are jumping into this one.
Quote:
DULUTH, Minn., Oct. 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Senator John Edwards issued the following statement today about George Bush's chief surrogates blaming the troops for missing explosives in Iraq:
"Today, George Bush sent his chief surrogate, Rudy Giuliani, out to defend the president's incompetence. And Giuliani blamed the troops. He said they didn't do their jobs. The Republicans couldn't be more wrong.
"Our men and women in uniform did their jobs. It's our commander-in-chief, George Bush, who didn't do his.
"If George Bush is going to have his friends out there blaming the troops, then he needs to back up his claims with evidence. Mr. President, show America the order that you issued for our troops to secure these dangerous explosives. Show us the order that your friends accuse our troops of ignoring.
"George Bush refuses to step up and take responsibility -- and now it's time for him to step aside."
This morning, Giuliani said, "The actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough? Didn't they search carefully enough?"
I can almost smell gunpowder in the air.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Gen. Wesley Clark issued the following statement today: "For President Bush to send Rudolph Giuliani out on television to say that the 'actual responsibility' for the failure to secure explosives lies with the troops is insulting and cowardly. "The President approved the mission and the priorities. Civilian leaders tell military leaders what to do. The military follows those orders and gets the job done. This was a failure of civilian leadership, first in not telling the troops to secure explosives and other dangerous materials, and second for not providing sufficient troops and sufficient equipment for troops to do the job. "President Bush sent our troops to war without sufficient body armor, without a sound plan and without sufficient forces to accomplish the mission. Our troops are performing a difficult mission with skill, bravery and determination. They deserve a commander in chief who supports them and understands that the buck stops in the Oval Office, not one who gets weak knees and shifts blame for his mistakes." ---

he already tried, today. it just doesn't seem to take.
because with all the talk of 400,000 tons of explosives, it makes pre-war Iraq look like a dangerous place and makes Saddam look like a dangerous man who needed to be dealt with.
Also, Kerry spent so much time hammering on this story, even as it unraveled before his very eyes, that he would look stupid to backtrack now. there's no way to gracefully do it. he's stuck.

Yeah, I posted some responses above. How can you tell it didn't take; he just said it today?
We'll know soon enough, though. Less than a week. After that, without an election in the near future, I don't know what I'm going to talk with my friends about anymore.

Oh so wait is this the new spin? Those 380 tons were the reason we invaded, THEY are the WMD's we've been looking for. Give me a break.
Still waiting on those links regarding the 2000 election Jeff....
