Every election year the rhetoric and the cliches just zoom by my head. Honestly, they're coming so fast and furious, and from every possible communication medium, what is one to do? In my case, I ignore. No absorption whatsoever. I have a general feel for a candidates stance on "the issues", but that's about it.
So when I go in the booth, and I'm all ready, I think of one thing:
Who are the War Hawks and the Religious Right going to vote for? And so far, I have always voted for somebody they are not voting for. Call me shallow, fine, but this method seems to work for me.
I'm sure there are millions of reasonable people voting for the same person that the War Hawks and the Religious Right are voting for, and that's fine, but in my closed-mindedness I will never ever be on their side. Ever.
Everybody have a safe trip to and from the polls later today.

That's a pretty good method. I would say I subconsciously have always done the same thing. I just got back from the polls and I can say I feel good about my vote. I was "undecided," but not in a Dem vs. Rep kinda way. I was "undecided" in a Green vs. Write-in kinda way. I think I'll sleep pretty well tonight.

i hear ya... though im "undecided" on a Write-in vs. Kerry kinda way... ive got about 3 hours till i vote... and i really havent made up my mind entirely... it's sad... but it comes down to whether or not i vote with my heart or my brain... months and months of things thrown at me, and im still not 100% sure what to do
I was going to try to sway, but instead I'll say that I am glad you are voting.
