I'm a precinct leader with MoveOn PAC and last night they held a big rally in Philly at the Sheet Metal Workers' Union Hall. Al Franken, Julia Stiles, Jessica Lange and Vanessa Carlton were all speakers but were all blown out of the water by two parents of a soldier from PA who was killed in Iraq. He was a 30 something National Guard member who had a wife and children and was called up when the Iraqi war started. He was the first PA National Guard member to be killed in combat since the 1940s! His mother told about how the "man with the metals and notebook" came to her door and asked if she was his mother and she just screamed. She pointed out that over the weekend 8 soldiers wer killed and that's 8 more mothers who get that man coming to their door. Their story was so incredibly moving that it made me remember why I've been racking up countless hours canvassing and tryingto get people to vote. First time I've openly cried in a room full of 1,000 people and i just couldn't help it. I just felt that I needed to share that experience with everyone here before Tuesday.

That sounds like quite a powerful experience, thanks for sharing it. On one hand it's great to have that kind of amazing feeling and be so moved, but it's unfortunate that part of it was due to a family's pain- that is being shared by too many families.

Can't wait for election day...
