Took me a few minutes. I was suprised that those late payments to Visa in college didn't hurt me. They're no where to be found.

My credit is OK but not great due to the fact that I never had a loan or credit card of any kind until I was 28.

And my wife's credit is teh suck.

I didn't actually do one until now. But yeah, 0 negatives, 15 accounts in good standing.

Seeing as how I've never had a bank account, cell phone, credit card, or car payment of any kind I don't think I have credit. Though I do have my name on a telephone and electric bill. Does that mean I have some credit?

How is that almost impossible? Up until about two months ago my 25 year old brother never had any of those things. I made him open a bank account and get a credit card to establish credit. The only thing on there that is hard to imagine not having is a bank account. None of the things on IEB's list are necessities.

i did convince him to get a cell phone, but of course he insisted he just get on my plan, which i agreed to.

And when he applies for a home/car loan, he probably won't get it w/o your parents as cosigners.

well, he is probably never going to leave home, and i'm pretty sure he could get a car. they give car loans to anybody nowadays.

Yeah I haven't gotten a credit card yet while most of my friends have one. I haven't had reason to get a credit card. However I should probably get one soon just to build up a good credit score.

We buy everything on credit. Even if we have the money. We had the floor done and had the money, but got the one year same as cash. That way, we pay over a year, and we always have cash ready in the bank if there is an emergency.

Hardly impossible. Actually it's been fairly simple. First off I keep all money in cash form. Any checks I get from work I cash out at the liquor store down the street. My girlfriend pays for the bills w/ her accounts. I give her cash for everything. With the exception of rent which our landlord loves getting in cash. I have a safty deposit box for large sums of money that I don't feel comfortable having at my house. Both jobs that I have I am paid in cash. With the exception of the hourly paycheck which is really nothing and I usually blow that at the grocery store.

Off the grid indeed. If I want something I save for it and pay for it in full with cash. I have a large supply of cash in case of a emergency. Probably a lot more then what my limit on a credit card would be anyway. It's a little more work to keep my financial situation like this, but I've been doing it like this since I was 16, so I will continue because I've made it work so well. Oh and I'm 27. So over 10 years. I hate paying interest, I hate credit card companies, and I really hate identity/CC theft. I've been able to avoid all that by doing things this way.
