The link explains that there were some 2000 votes cast in the voting machines prior to the polls opening:

They checked out one of the machines, and it turns out it was read wrong. There are two counters, one for the amount of how many votes have been counted on that machine throughout its history, and another for how many were voted on that day. They haven't looked at the other three machines though.

Another story is that 30 Republican cars in Wisconsin that were going to be used to transport voters to the polls had their tires slashed last night. There are a lot of malicious angry ass holes on both sides.

No doubt.

Honestly? How difficult can it be to make a voting machine that is accurate? You'd think this is the one thing our government would stay on top of. Is anyone accountable?

Very true. The Drudge Report should be called the Sludge Report. What it does is mix in some factual stories with some things it makes up and other things it selects because they have the right(wing) spin. I look at is as being like the National Inquirer, but without the laugh track.

This has nothing to do with accuracy of the machines. I'm sure they are very accurate, all they have to do is add 1 everytime someone gets a vote and then tally all the votes. The problem is with security. And security is a very tough issue, just look at the number of people that have viruses and spyware on their own personal computers.. *shakes head*

Dieboldt (sp?), the company making many of those touchscreen voting machines, also makes about 95% of the ATM's in this country. Now the ATM's do millions of transactions a day, with virtually 100% accuracy, and give you a printed receipt every time. SO why can't they build a voting machine that does the same?

I really do like by hands or loudest cheer better.
It would be so much more fun, everyone all drunk in a big crowd.
Just like going to a football game.
tailgating, and all.

I would love it if they made a voting machine that spat out money ... or, if you're a Democrat in Ohio, crack.
