Dad: "Because he hasn't done anything right."

My dad isn't even a conservative and he voted Bush.
Why? Because he doesn't like Kerry. Fine, that's fine with me. Problem is he says he likes Nader as well, simply because both Nader and Bush "don't waver like Kerry".

My roomate's father is/was a die-hard Republican who voted Libertarian this time around. It's the first time he didn't vote GOP in 40 years. His argument was "All Bush had to do to get re-elected is not fuck anything up. He had the country in his pocket after 9/11, all he had to do was coast. Well, he fucked it up and I'm not going to let him get away with it."

Not quite an enlightening quote, but I liked it.

My Dad has voted Republican every election I can remember. My Step-mom is a hardcore democrat.

This time around they are both voting Democrat. I asked my Dad why he isn't voting Republican and he told me that the Republican party doesn't even resemble the way the Republican party used to be.

Nope, not at all. Apparently "a" meaning "singular", "women" meaning "a plurality of females", spent time in the clink for wearing a scarf and it was a positive story.

My father-in-law was a life-long Republican. He grew up in Omaha in the 40's and 50's, he voted for Nixon and Reagan, but he has become increasingly disconnected from the party of his youth as it has come to be dominated by evangelicals and other social conservatives. I don't know if he voted for Clinton, but I'm pretty sure he voted for Gore, and this time around he is a hard-core Kerry supporter. He has just retired and has been spending a tremendous amount of his time working on the campaign with Kerry/Edwards and moveOn.

He wasn't part of the cultural movement in the 60's, he was a 30 year-old doctor and Air Force vet then. But now he is really involved in a movement for change, and going to Bush rallies wearing Kerry t-shirts and trying to get arrested. It's one of the coolest, most inspiring things I've ever seen.

Yeah, my 18th bday is Friday, too. Perfect timing... Although it doesn't matter in Massachusetts, I guess. But it's the principle of the thing...

Well I feel kinda bad, I was never going to vote, cause its all
a bunch of bullshit. Today was the first time I ever voted.
Its only really worth it if I can vote for myself, when Gwen Stefani is my running mate.

I still can't beleive Bush gets support. I voted for Bush in 2000, but learned from my mistake. Kerry waivers? Bush is a friggen moron!!! I thought he could prove himself. He hasn't. Not that Kerry great or anything, but Bush is a joke. A sick joke. I want my 2000 Bush vote back in exchange for 2 votes for Kerry!
