On September 9th Mr. Vonnegut will appear on Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO.

On September 13th Mr. Vonnegut will appear on Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central.

Awesome. I haven't watched real time ina long time, it just got to be the same bashing crap every week (and Dennis Miller is not funny anymore as a guest). Vonnegut owns, so maybe I'll catch this one. Thanks for the post.

i'm surprised i didn't know about this, but this is what he was promoting. it was a nice appearance. he looks good for 123.

I read some of the original pieces he wrote when I was at the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop, where he was from 1965-67.

I didn't read them all, but I do know one of the first drafts of Slaughterhouse-Five is locked up in the library there, as are most graduate theses.

He was funny on Real Time, though he seemed slightly senile. Something to the effect of "The human race is a disease upon the Earth. It should make like syphilis with a conscience and kill itself."

I should have this by Wednesday from Amazon. Can't wait for the Daily Show. That should be great. Jon Stewart is a big Vonnegut fan.

Saw him on Real Time with Bill Maher. So far I only read some essays by Vonnegut, but I plan on picking up Slaughterhouse 5 or Breakfast of Champions (or his new book Man without a country) sooner or later. I like what I saw on Real Time even though I have to second that he looked a bit senile.
