One revolution, 5 republics, 16 constitutions... France doesn't necessarily get much right in the way of Democracy, so, with all due respect, your opinion matters... little.

That is because of the remnance of fuedal land ownership and the influences of the church. Christians will never allow a democracy survive.

I can almost feel the pannick from the Bush lovers. It's all but over for them. Turnout for Kerry will be huge tomorrow, it'll be these republican fools' worst nightmare.

[insert xenophobic statement here about the french and foreigners]
Seriously, how tired is the "I don't vote in your country, don't tell me how to vote in mine?" statement.
Besides being dumb and rather ethnocentric, it does not help with America's image in the world.
I am interested in elections worldwide...should I not be? It is my right and I can voice an opinion about elections both here and abroad.
Afterall, the US has only interfered with numerous elections worldwide since the beginning of the 20th century. At least they are not being as aggresive as this nation was, they are only voicing opinions....not interfering directly.
Chill out.

Such a wise woman
I'd also like to point out that even though the comments have been directed explicitly at France, they are but one of a large number of countries that are pulling for one of the candidates. While I don't think we should vote based on what the rest of the world thinks, it's just as stupid to completely ignore it. We are one country in the larger communnity on Earth and we need to work together with the rest of the world to create plans if we are really serious about wanting peace, security, and well-being. The most disheartening thing about our current afairs is the direction that the country has been heading over the last four years: go it alone and fuck everyone else. We've lost most of our allies and have become very good at creating enemies.
America may be the strongest country in the world right now, but it is seriously cutting off its nose in spite of its face. Our short-sighted policies are only going to come back and hurt us.
