The president has to fire some of his cabinet members, to hire democrats, to unite the nation.
To me this is the wrong thing todo, I mean maybe he's trying to show
he wants to unite the country but I think this is the wrong thing todo
its kinda fake.
I think he should sit down and look over issues that democrats are interested in, and work on things that way.

Colin Powell probably wants to step down, and Donald Rumsfeld should be removed if the US wants to have any credibility overseas. He really should have gone immediately after Abu Ghraib was revealed.

So those are two vacancies which have to be filled anyway. Putting right wing hawks in their place is hardly a great way to "unite" the nation and rebuild your bridges overseas.

Fake? You could see it that way. I think it'd be smart.

To really unite, we shouldnt need to bring democrats into the cabinet.
I know what democrats stand for and I know what Republicans stand for.
Just bringing in democrats to even out things is bullshit, its kinda like saying, "we're going to bring you guys into the cabinet, give you a couple things, to unite".
Its like we're doing it just to keep democrats happy.
Lets look real good, and bring in some gay people too.
To show the country you want to unite, Bush cabinet should make democrats happy on their own. Like right now, it would blow you fuckers away if Bush says, he's going to make gay marriage legal.

I'm glad Ashcroft is going, we could use a moderate, and someone who at least appears sane in that position. I'll miss Rummy if he goes though. Nobody knows how to speak to the press like that man.

I'm for hiring the best man for the job, no matter race, color, creed or political stripe. I don't believe in affirmative action.

However, I do kind of resent the notion that the republicans need to make the effort to "unite the country." To me, the republicans won. majority rules. the democrats should have to move more toward the republicans than vice versa.

Everyone has to bend a bit.
People/workers have to like the boss. The boss/leader wants his people/workers to perform be an asset, not a slouch, the boss does this by bending and treating his people good.
If your people/workers dont like you(the boss) they wont perform.
