This guy was special. A great orator, a philanthropist, a lover of people. He believed he was the son of god. As everyone did at that time. He was only talking about love.

Why all the hate? He wasn't a bad lad

I think the hatred is from the fact that other people abuse his name for their own purposes. In my view he was like a festival going person: loving people and wearing sandals, traveling, long hair and lots of friends regardless of their status. Not understood by close-minded people.

groetjes,
Mirella :)

There are millions of people throughout history who were nice, generous, etc. Why the special designation for this one person?

Anyone ever read any stuff from Geza Vermes on Jesus? I remember reading Jesus the Jew as an undergrad and loving it. Must hoke it out and read it again sometime...

Someone went to Easter Mass this morning.

Seriously, only idiots hate Jesus. I love Jesus. The people who post on his message board suck though.

I don't worship anyone. They both said some great stuff that I appreciate. You're kind of being ridiculous.

I meant you condone the irrationality of others.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a Doobie Brothers reference in this thread yet.

If Jesus would have been 25 in 1969, he would have organised Woodstock himself.

So, does everyone here believe that Jesus actually existed and was named Jesus Christ? From what I have heard, many scholars do not believe the man actually existed at all.

He may have existed, he may not have. To be honest, I don't really care.
