So, last night I decided to watch some out of boredom, and I was reminded at much of a complete joke it is 99% of the time.

Does this hold true for your community?

The Philly local news is garbage. Stuff like, "What are the stars buying this Christmas, tune in at 11 to find out."

It always reminds me of Kent Brockman and the Simpsons.

Our stations seem to be obsessed with the "COULD THIS ___________ HAPPEN TO YOU!?" angle, and then how to avoid said tragedy.

DC news is pretty good.

I was in the Florida pan-handle in October and their news was the worst I have ever seen. Three weathermen had completely different forecasts and they were all totally wrong.

The ABC affiliate in the New Haven area (wtnh) is pretty good. They have a couple stories every night that I can't believe anyone would care about, but most of it is pretty informative.

Plus, their weathermen are pretty damn accurate.

I dont get why we have a total of 4 hours of local news here every day. Its all the same shit just rehashed. And we have 3 evening broadcast's too.

Toledo is not that happening of a place.

I think that's so that working people can catch the news when it's convienent for them. I can see how it's confusing if you sit at home and watch it for four hours straight.

I've got a shitload of that as well.

I rarely watch any news anymore. Coming here for election 2004 cured me of any need to debate for the rest of my life.

This is kind of a tangent, but is every news/entertainment news show on TV now ripping off the PTI format of listing topics at the right of the screen? All of the local stations now do it in Buffalo; I've seen it on half a dozen shows on MSNBC and Fox News, and I think I even saw it on Entertainment Tonight.

He owns weatherwatchers everywhere! Do they still do the guess the town thing? It was always a wee identikit town- Layby, row of shops, war memorial, church in background- I'm sure they just used the one set with different angles.
