OK, I found myself mouthing off to an old man in Cincinatti this past week. I'm curious what everyone else thinks.
Following the Bengals game, I was on the 6th floor of a parking deck and not moving. A dude came up to my window and told me to back up and go down the up-ramp. "Everyone does it," he said. I didn't. Later he came back and asked me to move so he could go down it.
I told him I wasn't going to move b/c he wasn't any more important than the 300 other people in that garage and when he crammed in at the bottom, he'd just make the waiting worse for the rest of us.
Eventually, he squeezed through behind me and got down the up-ramp. Was I in the wrong? I mean, obviously "everyone" wasn't doing it b/c the ramp was clear, and he just made waiting all the worse for the rest of us. He got home to his family on Christmas Eve about 20 minutes earlier by making the rest of us wait longer.

You did the right thing, B.
Very few things are more agitating than people who sqeeze their way through traffic. I see it on the highways out here all the time. People use the emergency lanes to move to the front of the line, making everyone else have to wait longer.
Not that I'm totally guilt free, I've had to do it a couple times. I try not to though.

I thought I demonstrated a significant sack by basically telling that dude to get back in his car and STFU!

Indeed. You did the right thing, and should have made an effort to keep JUST enough in front of the ramp to keep him good and pissed off. I hate ignorant people.
I bet he's the same kind of asshole who sits behind you at a corner and beeps his horn while you let little kids cross the street.
