I have a question about the Texas government, and it is in regards to County Judges. I don't recall the entirely of the official title is but it contains Judge and is at the city or county level and office holders area elected. I met the Houston one, and I am quite curious why they are called judges when they do not preside over a court and are actually an executive. Do other states have this position? Is it not rather redundant when one has a county board of supervisors? Or do you not generally have boards of supervisors in Texas? I would appreciate clarification in the matter.
