Went to Vedder's show in Boston...enjoyed myself thoroughly.

Vedder had three buses parked outside the venue. Not sure how many 18 wheelers he needed in addition for his gear.

Does a solo tour really require three buses? Does this bother anyone else?

Not really. When push comes to shove, very few people are willing to take what it requires to execute the massive cut in GHG emissions that some say are needed.

Of course, if Ed had went on a global warming rant during the show, I'm sure half of the people would say he's a hypocrite and the other half would say that his speech justifies all those buses....

Yeah but I've long since learned that holding GED recipients to a higher moral and political standard is a bad idea.

If there is a topic that undoubtedly deserves to be on the News & Debate section of a Pearl Jam forum, this is it.

Good job team.

Buying carbon offsets, the enviro crowds equaivalent of the Catholic Church's buying of indulgences. I'm pretty sure when the Catholic Church has found an idea to be stupid and got rid of it that the enviro crowd should have been smarter than adopt it as standard practice.

I just love the moral high horse attitude of "I love the environment but not actually enough to change my habits. But lordy I am rich enough to pay others to change on my behalf."

Maybe the busses are made from recycled aluminum cans and they run on hope and dreams.

so pearl jam should walk the US when they tour? the money they make from efficiently touring helps a lot of causes. they are not in direct contrast of their beliefs.

I'm more referring to the private planes Eddie and crew regularly take - not their tour buses.
